Lower Kuskokwim Site Administrators, Teachers and Support Staff

After speaking to several site administrators and professionals who are working at Lower Kuskokwim School District (LKSD), I discovered that many are from cold states in the lower forty-eight and love living in rural Alaska, where it is quite. In this community like most small towns, everybody knows everybody. This is a place where six degrees of separation becomes one. The real gathering spots may not be your favorite musical festival or coffee shop, but the post office and grocery stores (only two) because there really are not many places to go, especially during the pandemic. In the midst of it all, you will discover that the LKSD staff still finds time to hunt, sew, cook and participate in small family gatherings.

This will certainly be a year to remember for educators across the world and my work experiences at Lower Kuskokwim School District will forever be cherished! I thank everyone for their support and applaud Julie McWilliams, who has done a tremendous job, who was out on sabbatical a warm welcome back for school year 2021 – 2022.
